LASIK eye surgery is a common surgery because it is considered to be effective and safe. LASIK eye surgery achieves 20/20 vision or better in over 90% of patients. It is not uncommon for some patients to achieve up to 20/10 vision. Most patients never use their glasses or contact lenses again. However, there may be the need to repeat the surgery if the eye degrades over time.
