Hyperopia and LASIK
Hyperopia, or farsightedness, is a common vision problem, affecting about a fourth of the population. People with hyperopia can see distant objects very well, but have difficulty seeing objects that are up close.
LASIK eye surgery can correct hyperopia in prescriptions up to +5.00 diopters. The goal of the LASIK surgery is to lift the corneal flap and vaporize the cells with the excimer laser to correct the refraction error that causes farsightedness. This is a matter of correcting the curvature of the cornea so that it is less steep.
The LASIK Review can help you find a qualified LASIK surgeon in your area who can correct your hyperopia. Click here to schedule a free LASIK consultation appointment, or contact us to have a LASIK Eye Surgery center contact you.
